The Dutch double duo Sander Arends and David Pel are also present in Umag this year. Last year they lost in the first round to Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool, the eventual finalists in 2022. Now they were again against a duo that turned out to make it to the final, namely the Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, but the meeting was now in the semi-finals. A great performance from the Dutch. Unfortunately the match went to the Italians as Arends and Pel narrowly lost the match 6-4; 7-6 (5).
