In the match between Stanislas Wawrinka and Filip Misolic, dark clouds gathered over the Goran Ivanisovic stadium, but luckily this match could still be played before the storm raised. Stan Wawrinka showed that he has not forgotten how to play tennis. In no time was in a 4-0 lead in the first set. In the Spanish head-to-head, Albert Ramos-Vinolas could not live up to his seeded position (8) against Jaume Munar. It was a draw after two sets (6-3; 3-6), so a decisive third set had to be played. Jaume Munar turned out to be the strongest of the two. The third set also ended in 6-3, making Munar go to the second round.
