At first glance it seems like an advantage if you have to start in the main tournament against a qualifier, but in practice that is not always the case. A qualifyer who ends up in the main tournament is used to the circumstances of the tournament, has match rhythm and above all has already won a number of matches in a row. Such qualifiers are often in the winning mood and dangerous for their opponent in the first round of the main tournament. The Argentinian Pedro Cachin also experienced this, who lost against the Italian Giulio Zeppieri. He still managed to win the first set (6-3), but then Zeppieri came back strong by winning the second set (6-1) and after a 6-4 win in the third set he managed to play himself into the second round of the tournament.
