The Argentinian Andrea Collarini has qualified for the main tournament. In an exciting match in which he had to leave the first set to Vitaliy Sachko from Ukraine (6-7(4)) via a lost tiebreak, he came back strongly in the second set (6-2) and the third set (6-4). This means that he enters the main tournament. This makes him the only Argentinian in the main tournament, because his compatriot Renzo Olivo did not make it against Alessandro Giannessi, who brought the number of Italian players in the main tournament to five with his victory (7-6(5), 6-1).
