The only moment one could see any disbelieve in his eyes, was when he had finished the matched and had beaten the Spanish Nicolas Almagro. What a will to win, what a fighting spirit! And what a contrast with what apparently seemed to be the attitude of Almagro. Where Damir Dzumhur was fighting for every point, the very talented Spanish boy, who once was in the top 10 of the world (number 9 in 2011), didn’t look very interested in the match. It ended up in a 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 victory for the Bosnian Dzumhur. Also his next opponent Thomas Fabbiano can pack his bags. Although supported by a lot of Italian fans, Dzumhur conquered the Roman gladiator in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 6-2). With his British teammate Aljaz Bedene (see our earlier item about Cacic versus Bedene), Damir was also successful in the doubles. Riccardo Gheden and Alessandro Motti, also coming form Italy, had to bite the dust (6-4, 6-1).
