It took two tie-breaks, but at the end of the day Guillermo Duran and Andres Molteni (both from Argentina) were the doubles champignons in Umag. They won the first set (6-3), but lost the tie-break in the second 6-7(4). So there was still hope for the audience on a Croatian victory in Umag. The Draganja brothers, who entered the tournament with a wild card, had made it into the finals and fought back with all they had. With the support of the public and by winning the first tie-break they were close to the championship. But Marin and Tomislav Draganja could not repeat what they just had done and they lost the decisive match tie-break (6-10).
Big joy for the Argentinian players and to be honest, in our opinion they are the rightful winners of the doubles tournament. In the semi finals they managed to defeat the number one seeded Max Mirny and Daniel Nestor (7-5; 3-6; 10-6) and that also was a great achievement.
